YAC is a association whose aim is to promote architectural competitions amongst young designers – no matter if graduates or students. First YAC wants to propel research about design, by periodically suggesting tangible issues on Architecture and City planning. Pinocchio Awards has had a huge impact on the local areas. The jury that assessed the submissions was noteworth: Italo Rota, Mario Cucinella, Fabio Novembre, Emmanuelle Moureaux, among others, featured on the international panel. There was a total cash prize of 20,000€ to reward the winning projects: the 1st prize – 10,000€ – was awarded to the French team “vGHcompany”, the 2nd prize – 4,000€ – to the Polish team “Gierbienis + Poklewski” and the 3rd prize – 2,000€ – went to the Guatemalan team “De Oliveira Castro Arquitectos”. The 4 Gold Mentions – a prize of 1,000€ each – have been assigned to teams “OPV” (Italy), “OOLI” (South Korea), “DEPLUS ZATTI” (France) and “Pájaros mañaneros” (Spain). Besides, 43 additional projects have been awarded 11 Honorable Mentions and 32 Finalist Mentions respectively.Continue reading
